The passage of Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) repealed the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) and replaced it with two new payment update tracks, the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and CMS Alternative Payment Models (APMs).
