AAO-HNS Submits Letters to Aetna and Cigna Regarding their Respective Evaluation and Management Downcoding Policies

The Academy submitted individual comment letters to Aetna and Cigna on September 3 regarding their respective policies on downcoding for Evaluation and Management services.  In both instances, the Academy expressed considerable concerns that question reimbursement methodologies, medical claim and appeal processes, and the undo financial and administrative burden placed on physician practices.
